Due to field availability, this weekend will be the final round of games.
The K-1 Division, the Chiefs and Vikings are each 4-0 and will play for the Championship. Since they were already matched up, this division's schedule will remain the same.
We will play the Ravens at 10:00am Saturday on Field #1.
Since it will likely be raining on Thursday and we don't start until 10:00am on Saturday, we will cancel practice this week and plan to be at the field behind the stadium at 9:00am for a brief pactice before we go on to the field at 9:45am.
Thanks and Go Eagles!
As a reminder I have also added the email that was sent out on Spet.27th for the Tailgate this Friday. See you there!
WYF Players & Families,
We will once again be hosting our annual WYF night on October 11th. We will set up to tailgate in the Centennial Park Brown Covered Picnic Shelter on the North side of the softball fields (look for the WYF trailer).
The tailgate will start at 5:00 PM and WYF will supply hamburgers and hot dogs (up to the first 600 anyway). We are dividing up everything else based on age:
Flag – side dish
3rd & 4th grades – chips or fruit
5th - 7th grades – dessert
We will also continue our strong tradition of donating canned foods/non-perishable foods to the Waukee Food Pantry on behalf of the league. We will have a designated area to collect these donations.
The game is set to start at 7:00 so around 6:15 your team will get together to walk over to the stadium together. We will then make our way across the parking lot to the North end zone as an entire group. Your player is admitted into the game at no cost if they are wearing their game jersey, families must still purchase tickets. Flag players will run across the field first. Parents, please be waiting in the South end zone to greet your flag player immediately so we can get them cleared from the endzone area promptly.
As the tackle teams are announced they will run across the field to the South end zone where they will form the tunnel for the varsity players to run through as they exit the locker room. We have been told several times by Coach Carlson that the varsity players absolutely love walking through the tunnel and high-fiving the youth players. They evidently have just as much fun as the youth players do. Once the varsity players have made their way onto the field, we will leave the end zone area and your children may find their way to the stands to cheer on the Warriors!
Last but not least we need a few more volunteers to help:
(6) people to arrive at 4:30 to help set up
(6) people to stay after to clean things up
(2-4) people to carry the 10 school borrowed tables back over to the visitors concessions stand area
To volunteer and/or if you have any questions please direct them to Julie Andrews via text 515-779-8400 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope to see you all there!!!
